Dan --
You've stumbled on one of the apparent inconsistencies in the software—due entirely to my amateurish efforts at programming the original versions of Plotter and Expo/Dev.
The programs calculate flare in different ways and it's mainly unfortunate coincidence that the "flare factor" numbers happen to be similar. In fact my original intent was merely to demonstrate the graphic effect of flare on the film curve.
So, if you can divorce the two effects in your head, refer to the Plotter to see WHY flare is an influence to be considered, but trust the Expo/Dev program to give you the best practical advice about exposure.
In other words, I suggest that you export unflared curve data to Expo/Dev and add the flare compensation there. |
